They already know it is a long appointment

Window sales has a reputation, and the homeowner has read about it. Set an honest expectation on video before you arrive and you will sit down with someone who is not already defensive.

The problem

The category has a credibility problem, and you inherit it

Homeowners book a window appointment expecting a long presentation and a hard close. That expectation produces cancellations, spouses who conveniently have to leave, and a first twenty minutes spent defending your industry rather than selling.

What it costs you

  • Cancellations spike because the homeowner dreads the appointment
  • One spouse books, the other resents the time commitment
  • Your price gets compared to a big-box quote for a different product
  • The value of the glass package is hard to explain in an email

How it is used

What windows teams send

Specific, not theoretical. These are the sends that get used most.

  • 01

    Honest pre-appointment framing

Tell them how long it takes and why, who should be there, and what they will have at the end. A homeowner who knows what is coming is far less likely to cancel.

  • 02

    Explaining the price difference

Two minutes on a screen share comparing your glass package to the quote they got elsewhere does more than a spec sheet ever will.

  • 03

    Reaching the absent spouse

Send the same walkthrough to both decision-makers so the conversation over dinner is about the product rather than a half-remembered pitch.

  • 04

    Follow-up that is not pressure

A page with the quote, the product detail, and a chat window lets the homeowner take their time without you calling every second day.

What it changed, and what they actually do

Named companies, their own numbers, and the specific thing each team sends. Where a result is early, or the company changed more than one thing at once, it says so.

“If Jon shows up at my door and I have already seen a video of him, I feel like I know him. That warm-up period is gone.”

    What they do

A whiteboard with the homeowner’s name and appointment time in the confirmation video, then a 30–60 second introduction from the design consultant on the morning of the visit.

Measured across roughly two years, over marketing, sales, and production together.

“It puts a face to the name, puts a face to the company, and makes it more real.”

    What they do

A short personalized video the moment an appointment is set or confirmed, showing the homeowner’s name and time on a whiteboard instead of a plain reminder text.

Durante made several improvements in the same period. They name Quickpage as the biggest of them.

“It makes you a real person. You are now a human to them. You are not just another voice over the phone.”

    What they do

A personalized video page after every booked appointment, carrying a “what to expect” video and an FAQ the homeowner can watch before the consultation.

An early result, from the call center only.

  • JSB Home Solutions

Mike D’Attoma · Sales & Design Team Manager

Kitchens, baths, and sunrooms · central Ohio

“Personalized video essentially answers all of the homeowner’s questions before you even get to the door.”

    What they do

An “80% video” that answers the questions which come up in eight out of ten in-home consultations (who we are, what it costs, what the warranty is, who installs it, how long it takes), sent before anyone visits.

JSB changed several things at once, so this one is their account of the difference rather than an isolated measurement.

Questions

Windows questions

Will my reps actually use it?

This is the real question, and the honest answer is that adoption depends on making it faster than the alternative. Templates mean a rep is recording, not building. The mobile app means they send from the driveway rather than at 7pm from a laptop. Managers can see who is sending from the team dashboard, which tends to settle it.

What do we actually send before an appointment?

A thirty-second introduction from the rep who is coming, what will happen during the visit, roughly how long it takes, and what the homeowner should have ready. Teams usually add photos of recent local work and a short note on what happens after.

Does this work if the homeowner books through a call center?

Yes, and that is where it pays best. A workflow can fire off the appointment being set in your CRM, find the assigned rep, build the page with that rep’s introduction, and send it the evening before, nobody in the office touches it.

Can we use it after the appointment too?

Most teams do. A walkthrough of the quote explaining the line items beats a PDF, and a page with the proposal, the photos, and a chat window gives the homeowner somewhere to ask the question they think is stupid.
